Welcome

Hi and Welcome to our Regis DNP students:

You have accessed my blog for NR 715A - Application to Practice. This site will allow you to share reflections about your Service Learning experiences. I have experiences in service learning at the Wind River Indian Reservation, the 9News Health Fair, Project Homeless Connect (PHC), the Boys and Girls Clubs, and several schools in the Denver-metro area that served vulnerable, underserved, and diverse students. I was recently with FNP students at PHC where we provided triage and primary care to 115 homeless individuals. What was so moving and inspiring to me was how my second year FNP students mentored the first year FNP students. It was amazing to see how far the second year students had come and how much compassion and care they showed for the individuals seen and for their first year colleagues. They will be great nurse practitioners!

Have a wonderful end of the semester, Christmas break, and we will talk more in January. If you want to start on anything for NR 715A or NR 706 start reading chapters 1-6 in the Chism book, the Service Learning Handbook, and chapter 11 of the Zagganini & White text.
